• The USS Noxubee (AOG-56) was a Mettawee-class gasoline tanker, commissioned 16 November 1944.

• This cancel date (Christmas Day 1944) coincides with the early operational period of the ship.

1942 Jacques Minkus Patriotic Cachet

• The artwork “Then and Now — Sailing for Victory” is a classic WWII patriotic cachet.

• The copyright mark on the back (lower right) reads:
