Collection: Wallis & Futuna Islands

Wallis and Futuna, a French overseas collectivity in the South Pacific, boasts a rich philatelic history that began in 1920 with overprinted stamps from New Caledonia. These early issues, marked "ILES WALLIS / et / FUTUNA," were used until 1940, after which the islands began issuing their own stamps. During World War II, stamps were produced by the Vichy regime between 1941 and 1944, and later, "France Libre" overprints were applied to some issues. Today, Wallis and Futuna's stamps often showcase the islands' Polynesian heritage, featuring local flora, fauna, and cultural motifs, making them a unique addition to any collection.
