Collection: Papua New Guinea

Papua New Guinea (PNG) is located in Oceania, covering the eastern half of the island of New Guinea and several nearby islands. It shares a land border with Indonesia and is situated north of Australia.
PNG's postal history is rich and diverse, originating from its colonial past. The southern part, known as Papua, was under British rule and used Queensland stamps from 1885 to 1901. The northern part, New Guinea, was a German colony and used German stamps from 1888 to 1897. After World War I, Australia took control, and both regions eventually merged their postal systems. PNG gained independence in 1975, and since then, it has issued its own stamps, reflecting its unique cultural and historical heritage.
