This postal card was prepared for an exhibition planned October 1, 1939 to commemorate the issuance of the first Austrian postcard. However, the exhibition never took place because of the outbreak of World War II. The card was therefore never issued and remainders were stored in Vienna. After the war some of the cards came into private hands and thus entered the market.
